Bigeye Fish Watercolor

In September, I visited the Dauphin Island Sea Lab with my husband's mom, Judith. We saw so many interesting sea creatures. One such creature was the Short Bigeye Fish. This fish lives in the Gulf of Mexico and favors living near reefs.

I've had painting the bigeye on my to-do list since visiting the sea lab, and finally, the time to sit and leisurely paint presented itself while I was recovering from the flu recently. I had been so focused on my driftwood art lately, that I've put all other creativity on the back burner. But the flu took all the wind out of my sails. I felt so weak and exhausted and was unable to use my wood working tools. So I made myself some tea, found a cozy chair by the window and brought brush to paper. I painted many sea creatures while I sat sniffling by the window, but Mr. Bigeye is definitely my favorite.

I would love to see this watercolor as a print and am currently searching for a local printer. I also have plans to print some 2020 coastal Christmas cards to sell in my Etsy shop. I can't wait to share those designs with y'all soon!

Until next time.

Carpe diem, my friend!
