about Melissa Anne
No, I'm not a full time artist, but I do get to work with four-year-olds all day. My students keep me young at heart. I love seeing the world through their lens. Every day is a new adventure in Pre-K!
I am also working toward my degree in Early Childhood Education, which means I am incredibly busy right now. Not gonna lie, being a student is not my favorite pastime. I look forward to my graduation so I can get back to being creative and being out in nature every weekend instead of writing papers, bleh.
This may be a little cheesy, but I'm not one to shy away from being cheesy: the language of my heart is art. You may have noticed my theme of art and adventure. That's because, for me, they go hand-in-hand: adventure inspires art and vice versa. In my heart of hearts I am a maker, a dreamer, one who reaches into the ethereal and brings things into the material. Nature and fresh air are the fuel that make making possible for me.
It's hard not to encounter driftwood while out kayaking and enjoying the coast. Collecting driftwood becomes a hobby in and of itself, and my husband and I have become quite the driftwood hunters. I'm looking forward to sharing more and more driftwood projects here and in my Etsy shop!
I have fallen in love with the cool, silken texture and shimmering rainbow of colorful gemstone beads. It brings me so much joy to create wearable little treasures, and I am so excited to share them with you!
Watercolors are an easy, fun way for me to relax and express creativity. I'm currently working on some fun, coastal themed Christmas cards. Once printed, I'll post them in my Etsy shop. It may take me a while to get around to completing this project though. Again, writing papers takes priority right now, but as soon as I'm free, I will be back in creative mode!
